Ash Subramanian

Mr Ashok Subramanian is a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon, with over 24 years of experience, specialising as Lead for Breast Services, RCS College Tutor and East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust specialist.
Ash undertook his undergraduate training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ medical schools (University of London), qualifying in 1997 having received a first class B.Sc degree in immunology and triple honours in his final medical school exams.
He then underwent postgraduate training in London and Surrey as part of the prestigious St Mary’s hospital surgical rotation, the South West Thames registrar rotation and an Oncoplastic Surgery Fellowship at the Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth.This last placement was internationally selected to provide experience at complex breast reconstruction and also cosmetic breast surgery.
Ash is on the General Medical Council’s specialist register, a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, a member of the Association of Breast Surgery of Great Britain and Ireland (where he has served as director of communications) and is a member of the Worshipful Company of Drapers.
He has published extensively, being author of over 40 scientific papers and is senior editor of a large textbook which is due to be published this year.

Professional profile
Dr Mantovani completed a BSc (Hons) 2:1 in Microbiology and Animal Physiology at Queen Mary College, London University in 1987. She then pursued a career in medicine at St George’s Hospital Medical School and qualified with MBBS in 1993. She completed her fellowship in anaesthesia in 2001 and following post graduate training at King’s College Hospital London and specialist registrar training in the South West Thames region, she was appointed as Consultant Anaesthetist for East Sussex NHS Trust in 2006.
Since 2006 she has worked both in the NHS and private sector and has provided safe anaesthetic care, as a consultant anaesthetist for over 15 years. She has anaesthetised for all surgical specialities but with an emphasis on providing careful anaesthesia for breast surgery, both for cancer and cosmetic procedures.
She is an educational supervisor for London Deanery and actively involved in training both novice and more senior anaesthetic trainees on the Kent, Sussex and Surrey training programme.
In addition, in 2017 she was appointed Appraisal Lead for East Sussex NHS Trust.Vicky
